What is Doryx used for?
Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic used against a wide variety of bacterial infections, including Rocky Mountain spotted fever and other fevers caused by ticks, fleas, and lice; urinary tract infections; trachoma (chronic infections of the eye); and some gonococcal infections in adults. This medicine can make you more sensitive to the sun.
How to use Doxycycline
Doxycycline is best taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Some manufacturers state it can be taken with food or milk if you develop an upset stomach, however doxycycline might be less effective if taken with food or milk. Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this medication.If you are taking the delayed-release capsules, swallow them whole. Doxycycline Precautions
